Carpets for Kids® cares for the Environment.
Stop landfill waste!
All of our carpets are Recyclable!
We Recycle
at Carpets For Kids®! Carpets For Kids® helps keep our planet green by reducing landfill waste. We send our unused production scraps and damaged goods from our Georgia facility to a nearby recycling center. Since June 2007, we have recycled roughly 716,000 pounds or 358 tons worth of material.
Cradle to Cradle: The N6 yarn system in both our solids and printed collections, effective January 1st, 2011, is Cradle to Cradle certified by MBDC.
What is Cradle to Cradle? Product that can be recycled and made back into itself. Our carpets start out as N6 nylon fiber and can be recycled back in to N6 nylon fiber, similar to that of aluminum cans.
Additional Ways We Are Going Green:
Carpets for Kids® uses renewable power from PGE: Green Source. 100% of our monthly usage in our corporate office is offset with renewable resources. Our power comes from approximately 50% new wind, 40% geothermal and 10% biomass (wood waste) power.
All Carpets for Kids® catalogs use 100% Soy ink. As opposed to traditional petroleum-based ink, soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly. It is also available in brighter colors, improves the life span of the printers, makes it easier to recycle paper, and is more economic in the long run.
Carpets for Kids® not only recycles their carpet waste, but they encourage employees to recycle their office waste.
